This chart displays the total dollar volume invested by region and the total number of apartment building transactions over $1M in the GTA.

A total of 129 transactions were recorded in the first half of 2022 representing a 9% increase from the first half of 2021.

Four out of the five regions in the GTA saw an increase in investment volume in the first half of 2022 when compared to the first half of 2021. The most notable was York Region which saw an increase of 57%, going from approximately $29.7M in the first half of 2021 to over $46.5M in the first half of 2022. Meanwhile, the Toronto region had the second highest increase, rising 41% and going from just over $954M to slightly more than $1.3B.

Peel region was the only region to experience a decrease in investment volume, rounding out the first half of 2022 with a total investment volume of $160M, a 14% decrease compared to the same period last year.
